Greening Our Web
New project: Design the Internet services in an environmentally friendly way.
The increasing power consumption concerns not only traffic and heating,
but also data processing centers, server, and PC's. The goal of our new
project Greening Our Web is to make the Internet and its services more
environmentally friendly. In the first step the project is only related to
German Web sites and providers. Actually we developed a Firefox add-on called Power Indicator. This extension displays the green electricity status from the website your are browsing at.
